The Ragged

 Former Wolfskin - Killer of Deimul

This companion hails from Battania and in his companion_strings.XML files he's called Ferionn. See cut content section for me details.

So while his appearance is randomized, his name could be considered canon as Ferionn fen Dairl - the Ragged.

Companion Story

Before telling his story Ferionn asks for a moment to collect himself - it has been sometime since he's said more than a few words to another.

His clan and family were not among the most famous but neither were they the poorest. When Farionn came of age his family sent him to join the Wolfskins - for three years men do not eat cooked meat, wear spun clothing, and sleep under any roof. The law of Battania proclaims Wolfskins beasts and therefore are not bound to laws of man.

Time spent 'wilding' as a Wolfskins is usually spoken well of. It's intended to teach members the ways of the woods (woodcraft as it's called - which is just scouting). But Ferionn took note that his 'pack' were merely rich children playing feral beast.

Sitting around a fire every night belittleing each other. Ferionn, not being quick with his tongue, was often the target of others. One night, Ferionn had enough and stabbed one in a fight. None of the members knew how to staunch the bleeding so the boy bled to death.

Ferionn took flight running deep into the woods. Now, pessimistic about Battanian tradition, because although Ferionn was not answerable to the laws of men as he was a Wolfskin at the time, that didn't stop the family of the boy from hiring men to kill him. So Ferionn stayed in the woods for several years. But at times he wished to be around people again, that's when he would go into towns to look for work.

In Summary

"I'm a former Wolfskin. No doubt you have heard of us. I am not proud of what I did as a Wolfskin. But I am proud of the woodcraft I learned."

Cut Content and Dialogue

The two files companion_strings.XML and wanderer_strings.XML are pretty different.

But between the game, and the two .XML files (companion and wanderer) he's a former Wolfskin.

His name is Ferionn in the companion_strings.XML file

Ferionn is self-admittedly drunk during the conversation, next, his clan has a name fen Dairl. Still, his clan isn't the biggest like before but they're good fighters he claims. He goes on to mention the name of the boy he stabbed. Deimul fen Gruffendoc a cousin of the high king, Caladog. Lastly, he'd like an advance as he's in need of better boots.
