Noble Youths in Wilding - Mafia

The Wolfskins are a minor clan from Battania.

They are youths in the tradition called 'Wilding' where they focus on learning the way of the woods called Woodcraft. Essentially becoming better scouts.

Their members are randomly generated so no official ones exist except for the two mentioned in lore. Two confirmed members are Deimul, Caladog's cousin, and a companion Ferionn the Ragged. The companion hails from the fen Dairl clan - not present in game - and the former Wolfskin has been in hiding since killing Deimul fen Gruffendoc. Read more on their pages.

Despite the descriptions claim about great warriors 'wilding' for their youth, in-game members of the Wolfskins can be at any age range. From 20-50 years old. Then again they don't neccesairly hew to the old code - maybe that applies to when they join / leave as well.

They have good ties with clan fen Uvain, Melidir's clan.

"The Wolfskins are heirs to a long tradition in the Battanian lands wherein great warriors went "wildling" for part of their youth, learning the ways of the woods and how to suffer hardship. So long as a Wolfskin wears no sewn clothes, eats no cooked food, and sleeps under no roof, he is immune from the laws of man. In fact, the modern wolfskins tend to be the sons of wealthy families taking a few years to indulge their feral side, robbing travellers and living viciously and not necessarily hewing to the old code."

"One of the Battanian minor factions is the Wolfskins - a society of young warriors who have left their clans to live a life of freedom (and violence) in the woods. So long as they live 'as wolves' - eating no cooked meat, sleeping under no roof, and wearing no woven cloth - they are exempt from the laws of men. The Wolfskins are inspired by the Fianna, a fighting brotherhood who were the stars of a major Irish saga. It treats them as heroes, but they also have a dark side, extorting money from clans who are interested in mundane things like marriage and crops and don't have time to fight all the time. Simon Young, a historian who wrote a brilliantly entertaining reconstruction of "darkest Britain," AD 500, suggests that the Fianna may in reality have given rise to legends of werewolves. The Code of the Wolf however is our own invention."
