Ironbelly
Veteran - Not so Proud Battanian
This companion hails from Battania though he is not very proud of that, unlike the Red - he seems to believe that his kinsmen are lacking discipline compared to other cultures.
Companion Story
Fought for the empire for 20 years. He states that most Battanians his age learned their craft in the legions of the Empire. It wasn't seen as dishonorable. After all they were paid, fed, and respected for their courage.
But now the legions are gone and since Caladog has risen to high king of Battania he's gotten the young to think that fighting for the Empire is treason. He goes on to say "Treason to what? 'Battania'? There is no Battania. Never has been. Just a bunch of quarreling warlords, who'll steal your cows as soon as you turn your back on them." (As seen with other companions this seems to hold very true).
Every time he's fought with a band of his 'countrymen' he's told given them wise commands. Fight as the Empire does he says, "as a solid hammer, not a gaggle of goats." And every time, as soon as the first arrow is released, they charge in only to crash against the enemies shields or be cutdown by their cavalry that charges in from the sides.
So he's just about had it with the narrow escapes from charging cataphracts and is looking for work in a more professional force.
In Summary
"I am Battanian by birth but I served with the Empire. Many of us did. A brave lord, a captain who cares for his men... What does it matter in which language your oath of fealty is given, as long as you honor it? "

Cut Content and Dialogue
The character, unfortunately, is not in the companion_strings.XML file and so no cut content or dialogue can be dug up but the wanderer_strings.XML file calls him "the grey". Maybe that was an older version of his nickname.
